Voyager 1 in Interstellar Space
The Voyager 1 spacecraft, the farthest man-made object travelling in space from earth, has indeed left the heliopsphere, the bubble that surrounds our solar system, and has entered interstellar space.
In 30,000 years, Voyager 1 will leave the Oort Cloud, the outer boundary of the solar system. And in 40,000 years, it will be closer to the closest star than our sun. Voyager is indeed going where no man or machine has gone before.

In-N-Out Burger
The hype was right -- In-N-Out burger is great. New York has White Castles, Washington started the Five Guys craze, but In-N-Out maintains authentic burger taste without joining blandness of mega hamburger franchises.

Korean Restaurant With No Korean Staff
Something that is not imaginable in the East Coast -- a Korean restaurant (this one in San Francisco downtown) that has no staff speaking Korean. It is a sign that Korean food -- at least in the West Coast -- has gone mainstream and is accepted widely as Chinese food.

About Sushi
This is how sushi platter should look like. Many Korean-run (and Chinese and Thai-run) sushi restaurants have sprung up in the U.S., but the quality tend to be bland and mediocre, especially at buffet restaurants. Some stand out, as this one, with emphasis on fresh sashimi and detailed presentation. Matsu Sushi in Centreville, VA.
Ramen for Lunch in D.C.
The noodle is instant Korean ramyeon with spicy broth, but there are generous toppings -- choice of meat, fresh vegetables, and boiled egg. $9 at Axian.
